Commercial ventilation installation that makes a real difference
Let’s be honest, ventilation isn’t the flashiest part of a building. But get it wrong, and you’ll soon notice. From stuffy meeting rooms to rising energy bills, humidity and odours, poor airflow causes real problems for comfort, compliance and running costs.
At AKS Air Conditioning, we design and install commercial ventilation systems that quietly do their job – protecting your team, your customers, and the building itself. Whether it’s a new full fit-out or upgrading a tired old setup, we’ll get your airflow sorted.
Why proper ventilation matters
Good ventilation isn’t just about keeping the air moving. It’s about protecting people, property and performance. A well-designed system helps to:
- Remove stale air, CO₂ and pollutants
- Control temperature, humidity, condensation and odours
- Protect against mould and bacteria
- Meet UK building regulations and health & safety standards
- Optimise your commercial HVAC system to improve efficiency and lower energy bills
Ventilation is one of the most important but often overlooked elements of your building’s infrastructure. We’re here to change that.
Custom-designed and built ventilation systems for every space
We don’t do off-the-shelf systems. Your building is unique, and so your ventilation should be too. Whether it’s a compact office or a sprawling industrial site, we’ll design and install systems built around your floorplan, usage and compliance needs.
Air handling units (AHUs) - what they do and why they matter
An air handling unit, often referred to as an AHU, consists of various components assembled in large, accessible, box-shaped modules. These units meet the necessary ventilation requirements for purifying, air-conditioning or renewing the indoor air within a building or premises. Typically installed on the roofs of buildings, they circulate air through ducts to reach every room in the building.
Think of an Air Handling Unit as the lungs of your building. It brings in fresh air, filters it, cools or warms it as needed, and pushes it throughout your space.
A proper AHU setup means:
- Optional medium and fine dust filters ePM10 70% (M6), ePM1 55% (F7), ePM1 70% (F8) to meet customer request or legislation.
- Fewer odours and airborne germs.
- Better air circulation and pressure balance.
- Lower strain on heating and cooling systems.
- Free cooling when outdoor temperature is below indoor temperatures.
- Reduced energy losses from over-ventilation while improving indoor air quality with an optional CO2 sensor.
- Optional medium and fine dust filters ePM10 70% (M6), ePM1 55% (F7), ePM1 70% (F8) to meet customer request or legislation.
We build and install AHU systems that are energy-efficient, low maintenance and tailored to your environment. From rooftop systems to plant room installations, we’ll find the right fit.

FAQs - commercial ventilation
Yes. HVAC controls temperature, but without proper ventilation, you’re just moving stale air around. A ventilation system brings in fresh air and removes the old. This is essential for health, energy efficiency and compliance.
In almost all cases, yes. Building regulations and health & safety standards require suitable ventilation and airflow management for any workplace or space used by the public.
It depends on the system and usage, but we usually recommend servicing at least once or twice a year. Regular maintenance keeps performance high and helps avoid costly breakdowns. Explore our servicing plans.
Absolutely. We design integrated systems where ventilation, cooling and heating all work together efficiently and quietly.
